Informe de Competitividad Global 2012-2013

World Economic Forum en Economía / Especiales

The Global Competitiveness Report 2013–2014 is being released at a time when the world economy is undergoing significant shifts. The global financial crisis and the ensuing developments have heightened the role of emerging economies in the global context. This has accelerated the major economic transformations already underway, which have fueled rapid growth and lifted millions of people out of poverty. Yet, although the global economy’s prospects are more positive than they were when we released last year’s Report, growth has begun to slow across many emerging economies, and advanced economies in Europe and elsewhere continue to struggle.

"Perspectives on Global Development" is a new OECD Flagship launched by the OECD Development Centre in 2010. The report has been conceived to stress the change in the global economic landscape and the gradual movement of the centre of gravity of the global economy towards the East and the South. This "Shift in Wealth" is opening up new opportunities for development and it is posing new challenges to developing economies, thus calling for renewed approaches in development policy and strategies. This new annual OECD report aims at flagging emerging issues in the development debate by highlighting new economic and policy trends in developing countries.
